Meeting other people and joining in on group activities can have a considerable positive effect on the contentment of someone being cared for on a long-term basis. Even for someone undergoing a short rehabilitation period, socialising or at least having visitors to call, can greatly speed their recovery time. We encourage family and friends to visit at any time and provide a programme of events.
Everyone benefits from meeting other people
We appreciate that some of our residents may have limited abilities and may find it difficult to join in generic activities. We pride ourselves on reducing the risk of social and emotional isolation by providing individualised activities in their own room as well as group activities.
What social activities do you enjoy?
We encourage and help our residents to enjoy a wide variety of social activities, including:
- Daily and weekly activities arranged by the activities coordinator including art and games
- Themed events involving friends and family
- Visits from the hairdresser and chiropodist
- Weekly entertainers
- Pampering sessions
- Church Services
- Visits from the mobile library to choose from books, CDs or audio books
- Reminiscence therapy
The possibilities are endless; so if you have a particular interest, hobby or activity in mind, just let us know and we will endeavour to facilitate them for you.
